Hippo focuses on the coming of age of two half-siblings: Hippo, a teenager addicted to video games, and Buttercup, a Hungarian Catholic immigrant who loves classical music and Jesus. Like Aphrodite of Ancient Greece, Buttercup does not reciprocate his brother, who prefers to indulge in the art of war and chaos. The result is a tragicomic, hormone-fueled waking nightmare that has to be seen to be believed.
