Story
After escaping from the island prison where he spent 14 years for being wrongly accused of high treason, Edmond Dantès returns as the Count of Monte Cristo to take revenge on the people who betrayed him. With an estimated budget of 42.9 million euros, The Count of Monte Cristo is the most expensive French film of 2024. When Albert watches Hydee sing and play the guitar, it is obvious that half the time he does not even touch the strings. 1.13 (2024). Once upon a time in France, a film would not be a film if it were not for Alain Delon, then it was definitely too long Depardieu, the end of the 70s to 10 years ago, definitely too long, now we have Pierre Niney, he is only 35 years old, so we could be afraid that Gerard-itis could strike here too.
I don’t see why
Last year it seems like in every other French film/series he was the main character. At least the first two were present in some way. Maybe unpleasant, but presence. He not so much. A bit of a girly boy, and yet cast in very masculine roles Anyway, this viewer is already Nineyed in 24.
Practically the second coming of cinemaCmon
To the film: not bad, I’ll give it an A, but reviews here. It’s nothing more than that drone shots could be done already in the 50s. VERY “traditional” What’s good about it? The plot, but it’s Dumas; some say it’s been improved. I don’t remember the book, so I’ll take their word for it.
Indeed, the costumes
The police at the Woke studio managed to squeeze a lesbian tryst into it; why deprive themselves? The locations, the castles. Oh yes, incredibly beautiful actresses, especially the young French-Romanian actress Anamaria Vartolomei, did she really sing those songs? ExcellentBut really it’s pedestrian and all the time I don’t understand these rave reviews unless you’ve never been to the cinema before. It’s an OK film that you will NOT get bored with.
The best I can offer here
