HBO has renewed the series for a second season, despite the series being intended as a limited one-season miniseries following the actions of various guests and staff at a luxury resort over the course of a week. The series is said to be an anthology-style series with new characters for each season. HBO has done this before (to wide acclaim) with A törvény neveben (2014).. Appears in Jeremy Vine: Episode 4.175 (2021). I believe the use of music in episode 2, which almost drowns out the dialogue in some parts, was done intentionally to further enhance the tense mood of the entire episode. There’s a lot bubbling under the surface of these characters, and it’s boiling fast. If you don’t like most of these characters and find it hard to root for them, that’s also intentional. Mike White writes characters that challenge you and create conflict within you. He wants us to have an internal conversation with ourselves while we wait. As for what happens next, I can assure you we have no idea (unless you’ve read the transcripts). But fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bit of a bumpy ride.
