Story
Follows a struggling high school heavy metal band made up of outcasts who use the town’s sudden interest in the occult to start earning a reputation as a Satanic metal band, until a strange series of events sparks a witch hunt that leads them back to them. Hysteria by Def Lepard, Heaven’s on fire by KISS, Speaking in tongues by Meatloaf, Can I play with madness by Iron Maiden, Die young by Black Sabbath, Mother by Danzig, It’s late by Queen, and Dance Macabre by Ghost.
The good old eighties, when some Christian conservatives tried to stop kids from listening to heavy, wild music supposedly associated with Satan and the like
This series has a fun and playful foundation, through a suburban town of Happy Hollow, where the residents and their teenagers get caught up in some strange occurrences, led by a high school heavy metal band and their wild antics, with the demonic Satan along for the ride. Bruce Campbell as the police chief is a plus and an absolute hoot, as is Julie Bowen, a concerned mother who is thrown around by an entity, and even goes so far as to have visions of the evil creature with the horns.
Mostly it’s about the hysteria the parents create to deal with the situation
Emjay Anthony is perfect as the son, Dylan, doing everything he can to get that girl, even if it means starting his own Satanic cult! There’s a lot going on in this series: bullying, doing anything to get attention, peer pressure, craving acceptance, and all the things associated with teenage angst.
